Lord knows, you ain’t seen enough of me
Why did I fall asleep, on a love so deep?
It’s no surprise that this talented man with a powerhouse voice has a background in Jazz. What does come as a surprise is his capability to resonate such maturity in his voice and music. Kwabena Sarkodee Adjepong, a 27-year-old native of South London, brings us so much soul and grown-assness in his beautiful ballads such as Cheating on Me and Last Stand (my personal favorite! The riffs…his range…need I say more??). I literally feel chills and goosebumps when I listen to each of records because of the rawness in his voice. To be honest, I am scouring his repertoire for a wedding song because that’s how connected I’ve become to his work.
But, don’t let that old soul fool you! Kwabs has an ear to the same generation of which he has emerged. Walk is a perfect illustration with its up-tempo arrangement and inclusion of hip-hop artist, Fetty Wap. Still invigorating and bursting with a sexy and enticing story, this track is true to the man and the music that is Kwabs.
True to MUA fashion, I have left a hit of this insatiable craving below. Please take a listen and do me favor by leaving your thoughts in the comments section!
